Enhanced Floating Support Service (South Ribble only)

The service works in partnership with the South Ribble Local Authority to prevent homelessness and tenancy failure in the Borough. Referrals into the service come directly from the Council’s Housing Options Team who liaise closely with Excel Housing Solutions throughout the period of support. Referrals are in the main those whose housing history or support needs present significant barriers to accessing and maintaining accommodation, or where urgent intervention is needed to prevent homelessness.

The service works with vulnerable individuals in a person-centred way – ensuring that tailored support plans are agreed with customers to address all support needs, including finding and sustaining accommodation. The support staff work with other agencies and partners to maximise the support available to customers in respect of, but not limited to, physical and mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour, training and employment and maximisation of income. The service works within existing partnerships but also actively develops links with new contacts and networks.

Referrals to this service are strictly via South Ribble Housing Options team.
